Author went big picture on crazy madcap adventure by Bink & Friend on immortal bored players playing cosmic -complicated to lowly organisms- game to pass the time or that penalized player affected the land.
Land went without magic for a time. Nervous breakdown for magic users of every species except King Trent because he lived in Mundania aka Earth.
Not quite the sword & sorcery adventure I expected! Especially on logical hubris centaurs anti-magic bias, protagonist's magician of information getting attention from a Gorgon to protagonists critiquing a play.

Even better than the first Xanth novel. Delves more in depth with some of the other great characters in the series. Fantastic ending that leaves you wanting to jump straight into the next book of the series. Detailed and imaginative as ever. Love this series!
