Whether you are young or old - If you enjoy watching vintage, Disney, animated films - This 1949 presentation of 2 short stories is sure to keep you entertained for its 80-minute running time.

One cartoon is a merry, little joyride with Mr. Toad in the tale of "The Wind in the Willows".

And the other story is a sort of spooky, sobering little yarn with Ichabod Crane in "The Legend of Sleepy Hollow".

(*Movie quote*) - "Tally-ho!"

This 70-minute, animated, Disney presentation contains 2, 35-minute stories of Technicolour fantasy, fun, and fright.

Story #1 is based on the Kenneth Grahame tale - "The Wind In The Willows". Its main character is the exuberant mischief-maker, Mr. Toad.

This story was narrated by actor, Basil Rathbone.

Story #2 is based on the Irving Washington tale - "The Legend Of Sleepy Hollow". It's main character is Ichabod Crane who, one dark night, crosses paths with the hideous "Headless Horseman".

This story was narrated by actor/singer, Bing Crosby.

Originally released in 1949 - This animated feature film is fairly entertaining, for the most part.

Both features are well-done, if a bit lacking compared to the original stories. The Headless Horseman is terrifying, but I spent the entire time torn between wondering if Disney wanted me to root for Ichabod Crane or shame him. Bit of a mixed message.

This is my absolute favorite spooky carton and has been since I was a kid. Having just finished the book, I can tell you that the details perfectly reflect the text of the original Washington Irving story (albeit with a little superfluous Bing Crosby musical interlude thrown in, but I'm not complaining!). The animated short is even scarier than the book. I recommend it highly to brave children and adults alike.
