VERY GOOD television musical originally broadcast by CBS on Mar. 31, 1957. Lots of fine Rogers and Hammerstein tunes - and fun to see Julie Andrews at age 22 leading the show...

Amazing - especially when you realize that all of this is done live with no re-takes in front of millions of home viewers. There are a couple of funny mistakes. Also a wonderful extra documentary where the cast remembers each other and the production. Richard Rodgers seems to have been a real pill! The magic of black and white with a role written specifically for Julie Andrews. Not too shabby.
