Now in paperback, the New York Times bestselling exposé of the real John Lennon

The time has come when I feel ready to tell the truth about John and me, our years together and the years since his death. There is so much that I have never said, so many incidents I have never spoken of and so many feelings I have never expressed: great love on one hand; pain, torment, and humiliation on the other. Only I know what really happened between us, why we stayed together, why we parted, and the price I have paid for being John’s wife. —From the Introduction

Baker & Taylor
The first wife of the English rock musician discusses their courtship, the early years of their marriage, the impact of the success of the Beatles on their relationship, their divorce, and her struggles as a single mother.

I've read this book twice, (when it first came out and recently), it's a great read for any Beatle/Lennon fan. Gives a great insight into John Lennon as a person/father and doesn't just give you all the heroic hype that you often read in the press about him. It's a sad story, but I'm glad Cynthia shared it with us. The only thing I noticed that was a bit annoying was the history details she got wrong--like saying that John wrote All My Loving for her (he didn't, that's a Paul McCartney written song) or that John got shot December 9th before 11 pm (it was Dec. 9, early morning in Britian, but it was December 8th before 11 pm that he was shot)--details like that are not accurate. However, most people probably wouldn't notice things like that, I just happen to be a fan, that's why I do notice it ;) Anyway, a really easy book to read--extremely interesting too.
