VERY GOOD 1960 first Elvis movie after he got out of the military. The whole film is a bit restrained, likely due to production team, etc.
Juliet Prowse really lights up the screen - especially in her jazz dance number.

King Creole was a film that showed Elvis at his primal best. Young , healthy vibrant and in command of himself and everything around him.
ELVIS WHAT HAPPENED?
Two years after that masterful performance GI Blues shows a Disney version of our powerful hero. He is soft, neutered, singing silly songs and smiling like an inbred hillbilly.
People attending this film awaiting Elvis' triumpfant return must have been staring in shock and disbelief.
There was a report that at the original screening a teenage boy stood up and yelled, "WHO CUT OFF ELVIS' BALLS?!"
