It's just a good album - not experimental, unless you think listening to Paul Simon is an experiment. Great if you lived in New York, went to Columbia and rode the M79.

Afro-pop, classical, ska, new wave, punk all swirl to create an energetic, infectious record that bares listening too again and again.

An intriguing debut that freely incorporates influences from rock, techno, classical, African and Middle Eastern music, and a whole bunch of other places. Many of these songs don't quite work, as is inevitable with experimental albums. But Vampire Weekend gets points just for being so willing to experiment, and even at its least successful moments this album is certainly never boring.

This album is incredibly fun.

If you can get past the lead singer's sometimes strained vocals; the hooks are insanely catchy and the synthesizer is well balanced with real life strings, guitar, and drums. It's upbeat bordering on too happy.

I love it. Check it out.
