A solid read. Hamilton invokes the ghosts of a bygone era, describing a Los Angeles far removed from today's reality in rich detail. Her voice captures the mood of that time; a potent mixture of restrained hope and rampant paranoia that prevalied post WWII. Fans of noir fiction should check this out for a fresh take on a classic standard.
