This book was great and all and I finally get the Flare and what it is, but I kind of wish that it included the maze.

@Gwen904, I TOTALLY agree with you He-who-shall-not-be-named is also my favorite, sometimes i wonder about the mental sanity of the writer... I mean he odiously enjoys crushing the harts of his readers... in this case with a deadly virus and gun
also the Maze Runner is totally the best book series ever written
also, maze runner fans might also like the series Slated, and Divergent

The ending of this book was amazing! Thomas and Brenda are so meant for each other.
The whole is-WICKED-good-or-not thing was interesting, but my favourite character (not gonna say who because that would be spoiling) dying was so sad (a little unnecessary, too). Overall, the writing was stellar, the plot was pretty good, and the characters were real.

The plotline of the Death Cure in general was really interesting, but there was just a little part of it that made it get a 4 star instead of 5, like the first two James Dashner books. For one, why is James Dashner making all of Thomas's friends die? Making Newt go insane and die was really the worst part of it all, considering he is my favourite character. Then, the way Teresa is just gone for most of the book and returns at the end to sacrifice herself is also very confusing. Other than those two things, the rest of the book is pretty fun to read.

Characters: 6/10
Plot: 6/10
Writing: 9/10
This book was good, and it had resolution, but I wasn't really satisfied at the end. Everything just kept escalating so much until so close to the end that there wasn't enough time to get that peace that everything was really over. I still wondered if everything was a test, if I could tell what was real and what wasn't. Also, way to drop a bombshell in the epilogue, Mr. Dashner. It's over, and there's some hope for the characters, but it doesn't seem like there's much hope for the world as a whole.
I felt kind of manipulated by the characters' deaths. It got to the point where people dying was what I expected, so I didn't have the strong emotional reactions that have been elicited by other book deaths. Even though I cared about the characters who died, I didn't cry because I was like, "Well. Of course they would."
There were definitely some good twists and surprises, so kudos for those. However, I still don't feel like I really know what was going on the whole time...that mystery that propelled me through the whole trilogy didn't feel resolved.

This is the third book of the Maze Runner series. This book is about continuing Thomas' and the teenager's story. After all of the trials, they realize that the test still isn't over. Out of all of the maze runner books, i didn't really like this one. I felt as if it was really confusing and nothing was answered. But one thing i did like about this book was the cliffhanger at the end. I just could not wait to read the next book. We get to see Thomas risk everything for his friends. Just like the last two books, this one had many good lessons as well. In my opinion, the book was well written and had a lot of detail. I feel in love with the characters as i was able to feel what they were going through in the book because of the vivid explanations. The book also contained a lot of world-building, which i liked. I would recommend this book to teenagers aged 13-18. I give this book a 3.8 out of 5 stars.

Stories all seem to play on longer than they have to. Or that is what I felt, reading this series. The ending to this book was entrancing but also kind of saddening. I was kind of mixed about Teresa and Thomas and the other girl but I guess triangles all work out in ways we don't always like. It seemed to me to be kind of rushed at the end with not as much effort as there was in the very beginning. This whole confusion with "W.I.C.K.E.D" just got too complicated and sketchy that it didn't drive the plot as nicely as something else could have. All I can say is that at least my favorite character made it to the end, yay! 4.5/5 stars.

While it was a good way to end the series, I feel like the resolution itself was lacking in an actual resolution. By the time I reached the last page, I had so many questions and I didn't have a single answer; even despite its importance to the story. For example, what's going to happen to the rest of the world? The ending just left me scratching my head, asking myself, "What did I just read?" I also felt like Thomas' and Teresa's romance had been seriously dragged out way longer than it should have. Though I never saw the chemistry between them from the start. The Death Cure is by far the most tear-jerker book in the series, as most last books go. Honestly, there were some parts of the book I would have changed, like fewer ruthlessly-killing-beloved-characters, but all in all, it was a good read. Four out of five stars.

Final WICKED Memorandum, Date 232.4.10, Time 12:45
TO: My Associates
FROM: Ava Paige, Chancellor
RE: A new beginning

And so, we have failed.
But we have also succeeded.
Our original vision didn't come to fruition; the blueprint never came together. We were unable to discover either a vaccine or a treatment for the Flare. But I anticipated this outcome and put in place an alternate solution, to save at least a portion of our race…The Immune are the only resource left to this world.
And if all has gone according to plan, we have sent the brightest, the strongest, the toughest or our subjects to a safe place, where they can begin civilization anew while the rest of the world is driven to extinction…As we tried to install in each of our subjects over and over, WICKED is good.

JessicaGMei Jul 13, 2012

Thomas knows that Wicked can't be trusted, but they say the time for lies is over, that they've collected all they can from the Trials and now must rely on the Gladers, with full memories restored, to help them with their ultimate mission. It's up to the Gladers to complete the blueprint for the cure to the Flare with a final voluntary test.
What Wicked doesn't know is that something's happened that no Trial or Variable could have foreseen. Thomas has remembered far more than they think. And he knows that he can't believe a word of what Wicked says.
