I don't know if it's me or the author, but for the first time I didn't finish one of her books (this one). There was a long sequence of a foolish person using bad judgment while gambling, we had a bit of Kinsey, and then there was another long section about another character. (I don't know the purpose of this section because I abandoned the book partway through this section.)
I prefer hearing about the main character, not watching a slow train-wreck of someone I don't like.
In all fairness, it's possible I'm moving away from this genre.
Not sure if it's because this is an abridged version but I was really disappointed. Kinsey's motivation didn't make sense (and she didn't seem to be acting in character) and there were definitely spots where things didn't make sense.
I really could not put this book down! There are many twists and turns before the grand finale...
I want more.
Am on the "hold" list when this book arrives to DBRL. It's Sue Grafton's latest, newest novel and worth waiting for. I'm just sorry that I'm #50 on the waiting list!!!!
