Born in a cave, in famine, in the frozen arctic, White Fang is three-quarters wolf and struggling against the savagery of the wild. But the cruelty of man proves more vicious when he is captured, beaten, and abused. Knowing no kindness, he becomes a mad creature of pure rage. Only one man sees the intelligence and nobility of the creature, but will the wolf understand his intentions and find hope?

An injustice to a semi-classic work: the narration is mediocre at best and the recording quality is rather poor.

A wonderful "tail" of interactions between dogs and man. Told from the person of both the man and the dogs. Colorfully addressing what the author believes a dog might feel or think about different situations in the heroes life. Mostly serious the book does have some moment of happiness where the reader will laugh with both joy for the hero and joy for righteousness.
