I read this book to the bitter end; I thought it was a bit "fawning" over the actors, the writers, the producers, and everyone else involved in the show. I gave a big sigh of relief at the end. I would agree that one should not spend a great deal of time on this book. There's little reward, though I did enjoy some of the anecdotal stories.

Some parts of this rather long book were really enjoyable and revealing. It's mired in detail though, and there's a slimmer, more readable story in here that could have been a classic - with a really good edit. So many strands and personnel that I had to resist a strong urge to give up reading, several times along the way! Probably the only reason I didn't (give up) was the strong start, about the early years of the show. My advice: read the beginning and skip through the rest.
