Bought the book, bought a dehydrator.
Can't wait for the culinary experiences to begin.
My grandchildren enjoy 'grand-papa's' culinary novelties.
(Whatever it takes to make them eat more veggies and fruits!)
Straight forward information on dehydrating food. Good for the beginner. While I am used to preparing jerky, leathers and dried camping food, I enjoyed the section on preparing desserts in the dehydrator. A good source.
Hardly anything on raw food dehydration, almost everything is cooked first, then dried or dried at high temps. I was looking for new ideas for raw dehydrated food.
If you want to learn more about using a dehydrator, this book is definitely a good starting place. What I found most surprising is that the book has an entire section on desserts made with dehydrators (especially good for low heat cooking, "raw" baking). An easy, simple read.
