A different type of cop series. Two cops who are actually similar with some traits. The both of them are kind of jinx in their lives. The one cop is lazy and tries to find every way to avoid work. Apparently he has not even stepped foot in the actually policing for years. Instead he goes to a cafe which is located right across the road from it. Although he is lazy and boarder line of being incompetent he always ends up falling on his feet and solving the murder or even multiples. I liked the one comment he made to his partner, "Why bother, if we solve this case early they will just give us another crime to solve." The comment explains why bother rushing through one crime to get it solved as quickly as possible for the fact we are getting paid whether we solve 1 crime or multiple crimes. Why not lay back and take it easy for the fact once that crime is solved they will just give them another to solve. It was an ok cop series with laughs but not an outstanding one.

It is fascinating to read the myriad of comments regarding this DVD. I am on the side of the group who think it was banal, not funny at all and after slogging through the entire first episode, had decided that I would not watch any more episodes at about the half-way mark. I certainly do agree that no one does humo(u)r as well as the English, but how this was described as being a comedy is beyond me. I am happy that some people saw the humor and were able to get good laughs from it. That was not me. I shall not be watching any more episodes. I never felt any affinity with the two main characters and none of the other actors peaked my interest at any level except to think, "Well, that was dumb!" Okay, so the bar tender who was a comrade of the after-hours gambling group was good, IMHO. His charm was well-played and his lines were well delivered. He was literally the only actor in the episode who came alive and made his part be believable. The rest seemed to be phoning it in.

Two minutes and it is too stupid to waste time on.

Confession: I only checked this out because Toby Stephens was in it. And then I started watching and I was hooked. And then I couldn't stop laughing. And then everyone in my house started watching it with me. So you should watch this too if you like British comedy, some action, and some seriously snappish wit.

Although a bit bogged-down by a rather banal script, LucyPunch and TobyStephens, both wonderful actors, more than rise to the occasion making the very, very most of their roles. It's interesting to view TobyStephens in this role... so unlike the usual fare for him, and LucyPunch remains... always, the breath of very fresh air, bringing the quality of the blonde screwball comedy back-to-life: never too broad, always contolled, and always making it's bull's-eye. This series isn't too much other than what we've all seen before... little more than whipped-cream, but the two stars make it all so worthwhile; it's a whipped-cream concocted by master-pastry chefs, in the guise of Punch-Stephens!

There is some great humor in the three episodes of Vexed, Series 1. Two mismatched DIs work to solve homicides as they bicker over police procedures as well as their personal lives. Anyone who likes British comedy should enjoy this series.

I really liked this show.So different from the typical cop/buddy show and totally British in humour, and it's the humour the writers go after.Delving into the funny bone of relationships amidst all the police drama and being 100 % pig-headed male chauvinist or female centric, these two cops manage to work together despite all the politically incorrect ramblings that go on.Toby Stephens always says whatever comes in his head and Lucy Punch ends up being a kind of "punching " bag for his caustic remarks, even though she punches back with equal enthusiasm, and he always ends up saying,"What, what did I say."I did find it extremely funny, laughing out loud many times,as well as Series 2.Worth it as well,to see Lucy Punch and her form fitting outfits.
