Josh (Louis Corbett) and Ling (Li Lin Jin) thought they were in for a boring vacation with each of their parents (Sam Neill, Jurassic Park and Wang Ji) at an archaeological dig in China. It turns into an adventure of a lifetime when they discover a mournful dragon trapped deep inside a mystical temple. According to ancient legend, the dragon is missing its life force, a sacred pearl that is hidden away in a secret chamber. Josh and Ling must battle evil forces (and some very skeptical parents) in their heart-stopping journey to return the magical pearl to its rightful owner.

Very good for children. ( ...and the dragon is lovely and NOT scary.)

Was expecting a Goonies type adventure, and it sort of fulfilled that. Two kids, each the child of a single parent, meet while visiting that parent on an archeological dig in China. They accidentally find a living dragon whose pearl was stolen centuries ago. Kind of predictable, but still fun to watch.

This was an interesting DVD. It is good for a family movie night if you have youth in your family ages 9 to 13. The storyline is well-developed and encourages youth & their families to keep an open line of communication, because you will never know what you will discover when you really listen to each other. Also, the storyline and protagonists encourage viewers to explore "hidden gifts/talents."

The chinese man in the shrine was very funny. The dragon also looked fairly realistic. Good family movie.
