This "Greatest Hits" CD certainly gives the listener a good sample of some of the best African/American soul/funk/rock from the years between 1968-1973.

Sly & the Family Stone were an all-black, American pop group that consisted of 7 members of mixed gender. Behind all of the band's songs was the outrageously wild and flamboyant singer/songwriter/instrumentalist Sly Stone (aka. Sylvester Stewart).

At the very height of their vast popularity throughout the North American youth culture - Sly & the Family Stone were one of the most influential bands in the musical genres of soul & funk.

Out of this disc;s 16 tracks - Two of my very favourites are - Hot Fun In The Summertime, and Dance To The Music.... (*Watch music-video*)
