A true story of terrible child neglect and abuse.
Two of the older sisters are really parents of the three younger kids. When their mother Cookie leaves for several days and they must steal food. The end is the best part. Showing that with determination nothing can make you fail. It is a scary to know that there are children going through abuse. Regina
decides with the help of teachers that school is her answer. I found it inspiring.

A heartwarming story of how small and not intrusive government, minimal parental supervision, good will of the few and an occasional prayer contribute to strengthen siblings bonds and sets them on becoming productive members of the society.
