I really wanted to like this movie as a huge Ansel Elgort fan (after seeing Baby Driver) but now I know why I skipped this movie when it came out. It was honestly very boring and was just so cheesy throughout. I fast-forwarded through most of it to watch the biggest scenes, I couldn't believe how long of a movie they somehow made this into..... yikes

Great movie. Way better than expected! The love story was great and the message to love in the here and now was great.

I would Recommend this book to anyone 13 or older, because it has a lot of bad words. Words i am not allowed to say. And has a chapter that is not great for younger kids to read. But it is by far one of the best books I have ever read. It was so romantic and sad. I did cry a few times. lol<3

This film is well-meant and the actors play their roles well, managing their cancer diagnoses and effects on their lives and plans. However, it didn't strike a chord with me.

The fault in our stars is a very sad movie but I enjoy it very much. It was depressing, hilarious, and contained all the emotions that anyone could ever feel! The main character Hazel Grace was played by Shaylene Woodley who used to star in the hit show The Secret Life of the American Teenager. Augustus Waters played by Ansel Elgort was also one of the main characters in this movie and frankly one of the most important. Everyone seems to know that the books of movies are always usually better but in this case the movie was very great. Personally I thought that the book was a lot better and contain a lot more details but the movie got to show you how the characters in the book felt and displayed emotion in real life. The ending was the part that got me the most, as it is very sad and it made me cry several times. Since the book revolves around cancer, it was very emotional to watch throughout the movie especially when, surprise, someone dies! Since the movie was not as great as the book I would rate it a 4/5.

A lot of book to movie adaptations are not true to their books, important parts from the books get cut out or things get changed a little too much and the movie ends up being completely different than the book. This, however, was not the case with the movie adaptation of The Fault In Our Stars. I found that I enjoyed the movie just as much as I enjoyed the book. The cast was pretty close to how I had imagined the characters and all of my favourite parts from the books made it into the movie. Another great thing about this movie is that it is not the type of movie where you need to read the book first to get the full experience. Someone who has not read the book can watch the movie, understand the whole thing and love it just as much as someone who has read the book. The Fault In Our Stars is a wonderful movie that made me laugh and cry and I would definitely recommend watching it. 5 Stars

The Fault In Our Stars is a very emotional and sweet teen film about love and loss. It is the movie adaptation of the book with the same name, and it is actually extremely similar to the book. Nothing was really changed or left out which is a good thing in my opinion since the story was well-written and didn’t need much tweaking. Since this story does revolve around the main characters having cancer, it is very sad and will probably make you cry. This film holds a lot of meaning and emotion.

An excellent movie with a central metaphor for all of our short lives in the infinity of time. As a bonus: no guns, no fights, very little swearing. Ansel and Shailene worked well together.

The film centers on a 17-year-old teenage girl named Hazel who was diagnosed with stage-4 thyroid cancer at age 13. Thanks to an experimental drug Hazel's cancer is in remission, but she must be on supplemental oxygen due to lung damage. Hazel has an infectious, upbeat personality, but incredibly the film portrays her as having no friends. Her mother, played by Laura Dern, pushes Hazel to join a cancer support group, where she meets another cancer survivor, Gus, an 18-year-old leg amputee with whom she reluctantly falls in love. She persuades Gus to read a book of fiction that has obsessed her -- a book that ends in mid-sentence. This ending so haunts Hazel that she yearns to find the author and discuss the ending. Gus locates the author, who is living as a recluse in Amsterdam, and they arrange a trip to visit him. To their dismay, however, the author is a anti-social alcoholic who rudely dismisses their questions. Later, when Gus succumbs to cancer, however, the author attends the funeral, and attempts to make amends with Hazel. Unfortunately, Hazel treats the author's attempt to reach out with the same rudeness he previously treated her.

There it is. Sappy, unrealistic, predictable and disappointing. But thanks to Shailene Woodley's performance as Hazel the film may bring tears to your eyes.
