What is the proper way to ask Mr. Panda for doughnuts? Patiently and politely, Mr. Panda asks the animals he comes across if they would like a doughnut. A penguin, a skunk, and a whale all say yes, but they do not remember to say "please" and "thank you." Is anyone worthy of Mr. Panda's doughnuts? Steve Antony has captured a cute Panda, delightful animals hungry for doughnuts, and a manners lesson. With the black-and-white animals, plain backgrounds, and brightly colored doughnuts, Antony's art is bold, striking, and engaging.

Cute story about a very important word. Illustrations are high contrast and great for young children.

Mr. Panda is searching for something and we don't know quite what until the last page.
Then we get it and we have to read it again. Simple book to promote good manners.

A good lesson in manners.

Antony's illustrations are sparse yet inventive. You can see the disappointment in Mr. Panda's eyes as each interaction lacks the politeness that he is hoping for. The use of only black-and-white animals forces our eyes toward those colorfully tempting doughnuts with every page turn.

A panda and doughnuts, a surprising combination. Is he sharing? Is he not?
A good story for learning the importance of the word "please."

My son loves this book! He has definitely starting using "please" a lot more around the house. The text is short, to the point, and the illustrations are simple. A great read!

My son loves this book. He often asks to have it read three or more times in a row. It is a great way to explain the importance of saying please.
