A fun, inspiring, and deeeelightful Scottish tale based on true events. The cast and characters are strong, scenery beautiful, and the score a perfect match. Just a fun, witty little film.
Didn't get interesting until halfway through, then I was hooked. Watch the bonus feature, Ian was on set helping keep it close to what happened.
Interesting story. I was left wondering how much of the story this movie tells was made up and how much actually happened. I also found several things strange
1) the fact that they broke the stone (they said it was because it was so old) and yet didn't seem to face any repercussions was surprising;
2) the movie doesn't conclude with were each of the characters goes - I am pretty sure that one or more of them ended up in politics...go figure.
Not bad, but a little too precious in places. (The Hamish Macbeth version of the story is much better!) Still entertaining though.
Appeals to the vicarious Scottish nationalist in me. Entertaining, somewhat moving, very gripping at points, and beautifully filmed. The interrelationships between characters are revealed through small slices of detail. Very well cast and well acted.
Upbeat, with very likeable characters. I totally sympathized and wanted them to get away with it.
Suspenseful, great timing and just the right amount of comic relief.
Fun to watch!
Great movie - hilarious adventure of 4 students with a crazy plan, which does not always go off without a hitch. Watch the Bonus Features for the full true story!
This movie is fun!
Highly recommend it.
Great movie! Completely enjoyable from beginning to end.
A nice film about a group of students reclaiming the Stone of Scone for Scotland. This is great viewing for those who love Scotland and are also interested in its recent history. It's good viewing for families with older kids and teens (it would not hold the interest of younger ones). Interestingly, it's a Scotland-Canada co-production.
