From New York Times bestselling author Kate White comes a riveting psychological suspense in which a media star must battle a malevolent enemy who may be disturbingly close to her. After losing her on-air job two years ago, television host Robin Trainer has fought her way back and now she's hotter than ever. With her new show climbing in the ratings and her first book a bestseller, she's being dubbed a media double threat. But suddenly, things begin to go wrong. Small incidents at first: a nasty note left in her purse; her photo shredded. But the obnoxious quickly becomes threatening when the foundation the makeup artist uses burns Robin's face. It wasn't an accident'someone had deliberately doctored with the product. An adversary with a dark agenda wants to hurt Robin, and the clues point to someone she works with every day. While she frantically tries to put the pieces together and unmask this hidden foe, it becomes terrifyingly clear that the person responsible isn't going to stop until Robin loses everything that matters to her . . . including her life.

A good book, but I'm ready for Kate White to write a novel about a *new* character - i.e. one who doesn't have a journalism background and who doesn't live in New York and have issues with their ex. The Sixes was the closes to a fresh character I've seen, but that one still had the classic over-explanation of the character's though process with mostly the same voice that all other main characters in her novels typically have.

The character familiarity aside, this is a quick read and just as enjoyable as the rest of her novels.

A good mystery read mixed with Romance. The first 200 pages is a bit slow.

I read this book as part of a "Big Read." I must confess it is not my favourite genre but I enjoyed it nevertheless.
White has written a decent thriller with all the elements necessary to make it interesting.
The red herrings however proved to be just that - red herrings; and, the culprit was somewhat obvious. All in all a good summer read.

A nice, fast mystery read

I knew within the first 25 pages who the baddie would be but didn't know how the author would get there. The plot was interesting, if a little dragged out in places.

a little draggedout, maybe a bit predictable in places, but overall okay.
