Great story but vulgar language and disturbing scenes (watch a vasectomy). Disappointing after such a good book.

Fun and uplifting--some dark humor though.

Surprisingly true to the book, which was also excellent.

I loved this movie so much that when I was telling a friend about it I couldn't remember if it was subtitled or not. Even without words, it's so funny, madcap, campy, silly and what have you. If this doesn't give you a laugh, you may need to see a professional!

I wasn't sure I'd like this but I giggled throughout. The main character is so simplistic he makes you forget the story seems far-fetched. There were spots that were so funny I almost fell off my seat! While my ex-husband likes to say,"I don't want to read my movies," I disagree. The translations are worth it! It includes some English as well.

English narration, character dialog in Swedish with English captioning. Unusual characters & storyline with lots of humor. Reminds me a lot of Elmore Leonard,s more humorous plots. No good guys here, all the characters have their flaws, but it's hard not to like them. Put in the effort to read the dialog; it'll pay off.

I really enjoyed this movie. You just never know, throughout the movie, what to expect or even if you like the characters. Lots of near misses. Just a fun movie. Don't take it so seriously, people, and yes, through parts of it you'll need to read sub-titles but it is so worth it. :) It reminds me of Waking Ned Devine.

I thought it was quite funny. Reminded me a bit of Forrest Gump, inserting Allan in with historic figures. To 'charmed04' there is English captioning available on the disc. I watch most movies with captioning on, as my husband goes to bed early.

Not necessarily true to the book but on its own the movie was entertaining.
