DISCLAIMER: While I enjoyed the book, it can be extremely graphic at certain points, it’s not for those of the faint of heart
To be honest, Six of crows by Leigh Bardugo baffles me, and that is exactly the point. When one of your main protagonist is an expert in sleight of hand the entire novel feels like a beautiful magic trick. Only once you get to the end do you understand the intricacies of the plot. Leigh Bardugo does a stellar job giving life to the entire world. Descriptions just detailed enough to understand but not enough to draw away from the story. And what a tale it is, described by the five protagonist it’s wonderful how they manage to incorporate the backstory of themselves, their world and not skip a beat on the action. The romantic subplots within the novel seems forced in some areas but otherwise it was a fast read and will keep you on the edge of your seat.
This is an excellent novel to read as an audio book, the performers; Jay Snyder, Brandon Rubin, David LeDoux, Lauren Fortgang, Roger Clark, Elizabeth Evans and Tristan Morris brought life to each character. They used expression perfectly to enrich the story and gave more to the characters than what was simply on the page. The only regret is that there is no audiobook for the sequel Crooked Kingdom, but rest assured you’ll want to read it all the same.

I listened to the audiobook for this and enjoyed the story. It was different from anything I had read before. The characters are interesting and most of them are likable. It has a lot of suspense because you never know what is going to happen to the characters. I look forward to reading the sequel to this book.

This audiobook is so worth the read. I've listened to it twice AND read the hard copy, and I have to say the voice cast really brings the story to life. Each actor in the ensemble is so good at their character, and at delivering this devious heist story with suspense, heart, and a pacing that keeps up with the plot. It's an amazing feat. This is one of the best listens I have ever had.
