I read the first book in the series and I was not impressed with the characters, but I went ahead a picked this one up and enjoyed the character growth in this book. I will definitely read the next book.

Not as good as Falling Kingdom. Not even close.

After reading Falling Kingdoms, the first book in Morgan Rhodes Falling Kingdoms series, I was very excited. I jumped right into Rebel Spring but I have to say my expectations were not met. There is some huge character development especially from Prince Magnus who is trying to figure out who he is and what path he should follow. In this book he really begins to question his father’s decisions and he really begins to see things for how they really are. But I found there wasn’t as much action as the first one. This whole time the author was building up all this suspense and I was waiting from this huge action scene, but it fell short. There really wasn’t any action. However, despite this lack of action within the book, I found this one was more important for character development as character began to take action and I really got to see what the characters wanted for themselves. Overall, I did enjoy this book, but not as much as the first one. I am excited to read the third one and I can’t wait to see what happens next. Overall, I give this book a 3.5 out of five stars.

Great series! Auranos is defeated. Cleo is forced to be betrothed to Magnus. Who can she trust and how can she win her kingdom back.
