What a beautifully written book! It was filled with rich metaphors and similes, which sounded natural. Often, metaphors and similes can sound forced, making them stick out badly, but here they blended in perfectly.
The story was also engaging and surprised me. I felt pretty sure how it was to enfold, but then, wham, and all preconceptions fly out the window. Overall, a very enjoyable read.

This is a somewhat darker fairy tale adaptation, and it's beautifully written. The exploration of Beauty and the Beast tied to family and curses and secrets is interesting, with a bit of darkness.

A rare fantasy fairytale gem. The writing style is just fraught with magic in its descriptions and comparisons and unique voice...I don't know if I've ever seen anything quite like it. The book is littered with beautiful language, and the fairy tale vibe itself seems somewhat like some story you've heard before, but completely *isn't*. Quite the interesting read, quick and short but lyrical and thoughtful.

I could not get into the book. It was boring. Maybe I will try to read it again later.
