Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. At 28, he's focused only on walking a straight line - getting his teaching degree, working out at the gym religiously, and avoiding all the places and people that proved so destructive in his earlier life. The last thing he's looking for is a serious relationship. But when Maria Sanchez crosses paths with him on a rainswept night in North Carolina, his plans are upended in a way that will rattle the foundations of his carefully structured life. As for Maria, the hardworking lawyer and daughter of Mexican immigrants, Colin will challenge every notion she's ever had about herself and her future, making her question what truly makes her happy. Before the couple has a chance to envision what a life together might look like, however, menacing reminders of events in Maria's past begin to surface. And as the threat of violence begins to shadow her every step, she and Colin will be tested in increasingly terrifying ways....

For someone that was expecting a complete romance, I was a little taken aback by the amount of suspense injected into this novel. Two protagonists, living in two completely different lives, somehow connect through a fateful meeting one evening on the side of the road. And the story goes on to paint the picture of love, family, and second chances. It captures the very importance of keeping an open mind, especially when it comes to meeting new people. When dark subjects arise, the plot takes a few turns I did not anticipate from the author. But overall, it was an interesting read. @Siri of the Teen Review Board at the Hamilton Public Library

I couldn't get through this book, it was too boring for me. BUT I think I just don't like Nicholas Sparks. This is the second book of his that I have tried to read, and I find them cheesy and boring.

The story line was okay and part way through I felt the author had just decided to enter another little bit of news to the novel and it took a hole different twist. Nicholas Sparks kept you entertained up to the end.

Simple story-line, but enjoyable. Easy read and good to pass the time. Overall enjoyed the book.

Nicholas Sparks did it again. "See me" was a fabulous novel, its a great love story and mystery which kept me in suspense the whole time. Couldn't put the book down .

Romance novel about a gal being stalked, saved by her love interest. I found it sappy, characters far too predictable & stereotypical so it was hard for me to really care for them. My love/hate relationship with Nicholas Sparks' work continues - I find his books eye-rollingly sappy but once I start one I can't stop reading it till the end, sigh.
