Ah, to be Rod Stewart--lots of lovely ladies, children and fans. Nice, conversational book, not too deep or too light. Yes, I do love the man; seen him twice in concert. The show in the early/mid 90's was best, here in Charlotte, NC.

An ok book from Rod.
Had an extraordinary life
with the ladies.
Seen him live once what an excellent show.
Could of been more thrills in this book.

I would have thought that a person who has lived such a remarkable life could write a more interesting story. This book reads simply as a timeline of the people and events that happened in his life. His time on the road with the Faces and his failed relationships are testimonies to his immaturity. I always wonder in stories like this how much a successful person shares his good fortune with parents and siblings. Not much offered in this regard. With the extensive appendix of his recorded material offered I couldn't help thinking this book may have just been intended as a marketing tool for a musical career that is essentially over. I have seen him live several times over his career and he always puts on a good live show and usually has a great band. That is his strong point. Writing a memoir (if in fact he did write it) is not. Stick to singing Rod.

what a naughty little boy our Rod was....compelling rock and roll memoir from a great songwriter and singer....a must read for 70's rock music fans.

Surprisingly well written, Rod Stewart undoubtedly had an exceptional life. His narrative voice is compelling, and his wit and humor are apparent. I'm not a big fan of his, but his life and the times about which he writes are quite interesting if you're a fan of the rock music scene.

I can't read this book. It smells SO bad. I guess a really heavy smoker read it last time. I have to get it out of my house.

A very enjoyable read. He's naughty, over-sexed, creative, canny with money, knowledgable about the art he buys, keeps his friends for a lifetime, loves his children and they feel the same way about him and even his ex-wives still get on well with him. He's just a really nice man with a terrific sense of humour. I loved this book it's well worth reading.
