This is a lovely book about imagination and writing one's world. New readers will delight in reading off the words that occupy Rocket's world.

I had forgotten how bad Rocket Learns to Read was when I checked out this other book by the same author, an obvious proponent of "Sight Reading". With so many good books out there for early readers, there is no reason to expose your precious child to the hazards of pictures over words, plastered on everything.

The joy of reading is topped only by the joy of writing in this sweet little book.

A delightful and adorbly illustrated story about a dog named Rocket who learns about the process of writing a story by learning about his new owl friend. A completely sweet story.

Delightful story about inspiration, creativity and persistence explored through dog Rocket's experience with the writing process. Spoiler alert: He even makes a friend along the way.

Great for teaching about the process of writing a story....although a simplified process.
