The Iron Prince—my nephew—betrayed us all. He killed me. Then, I woke up. Waking after a month on the brink of death, Ethan Chase is stunned to learn that the Veil that conceals the fey from human sight was temporarily torn away. Although humankind's glimpse of the world of Faery lasted just a brief moment, the human world was cast into chaos, and the emotion and glamour produced by fear and wonder has renewed the tremendous power of the Forgotten Queen. Now she is at the forefront of an uprising against the courts of Faery—a reckoning that will have cataclysmic effects on the Nevernever. Leading the Lady's Forgotten Army is Keirran himself: Ethan's nephew, and the traitor son of the Iron Queen, Meghan Chase. To stop Keirran, Ethan must disobey his sister once again as he and his girlfriend, Kenzie, search for answers long forgotten. In the face of unprecedented evil and unfathomable power, Ethan's enemies must become his allies, and the fey and human worlds will be changed forevermore.

The last book *sob* in the Iron Fey series. Picks right up from where the previous book's cliffhanger left off. Love the character Ethan & am sad to see the curtain on this world close.

Another conclusion to the Iron Fey stories.
I have loved this world that Julie Kagawa has created. I loved the Iron Fey series, love Meghan and Ash and Puck, and learned to love the teenaged Ethan and Keirran. It's sad to see these books come to a close once more, blocking my access to the world of the Nevernever and Faery, but all I can do is keep my eyes open and hope that Mrs. Kagawa follows through with the thought she mentioned in her acknowledgments of continuing the stories of our beloved characters.
I love Keirran, so seeing his transformation in this story into a soulless fae was heartbreaking. Though I was surprised by Ethan- I thought after having died at his nephew's hand he would be angry, bent on revenge, and not entirely like his past self. But instead of this, Ethan seemed more empathetic, patient, and calm in this story, as if his death experience had given him a level of maturity that I hadn't expected.
This is a great book, with appearances from all our favorite characters from the past, and twists and turns that I couldn't have ever predicted. A great read, a great series, an amazing new world.
With that, I bid Meghan, Ash, Puck, Grimalkin, Wolf, Keirran, Ethan, Kenzie, Annwyl, Razor, the Thin Man, and all the obnoxious rulers of Faery adieu. Hopefully this is not the last to be seen of you.

I am glad this book finally came out. It was good. The adventure comes to a nice conclusion.

Frightening or Intense Scenes: All characters in this series, other than the cat, Grimalkin, are placed in danger. He would be too smug about that.

Sexual Content: SPOILER! Characters have sex. Very brief, no details, other than a discussion about performance anxiety. Adults in the series know about it & smile/wink.
