I agree with DaveM ... it didn't care for the content but it was well done ... although I did get a few more laughs than he did, perhaps :D

Although I thought this was a good movie - well worth viewing - it is not a comedy, despite being listed as such. I think Jonah Hill's performance in this movie shows just how good an actor he is. In other movies he has convincingly played gentle, caring characters. In this movie, his character is the polar opposite, and Hill pulls it off masterfully.

If the disclaimer wasn't announced that this is based on a real story I would have laughed this off. Very scary to think that ordinary citizens can get in on arms dealing and make millions from it. Cheaters will always find that loophole.

Not funny.
Not a stoner movie.
Not much action.
Fell asleep before the end and couldn't be bothered to play it later.

I was not expecting much but ended up really liking this movie. Both actors do a great job, the script is funny and there is a great music lineup. Also, I am not a fan of Bradley Cooper, but in this film...I kind of liked him.

Inspired by the true story of two young arms dealers, one was a devoted family man who dubiously made the career choice to provide for a growing family and the other was just a coke snoring amoral scheming opportunist. In the complicated world of illegal arms trade, the combination made a fragile partnership which was destined not to last. In between, there were some entertaining satirical skits on the military-industrial complex and a few gunrunning snafus. "Lord of War 2005" it is not but worth a watch.

I thought this was really an excekllent movie. File under "truth is stranger than fiction". Very well done so that even if you don't know anything about this situation, you will not have trouble following the story. Amazing story and very entertaining film.

An interesting movie. Basically it is about a guy that is willing to scam anyone including his close friends.

Found this movie interesting from beginning to the end. Would have no problem recommending. There are 453 at present waiting on this DVD. I'm sure the wait for most will be worth it.

better than expected. Had some humorous moments intertwined with a very serious story. Worth the watch.

What do you know about war? They'll tell you it's about patriotism, democracy or some shxt about the other guy
hating our freedom. But you want to know what it's really about? What do you see? A kid from Arkansas doing his patriotic duty to defend his country? I see a helmet, fire-retardant gloves, body armor, and an M16. I see $17,500. That's what it costs to outfit one American soldier. Over two million soldiers fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. It cost the American taxpayer $4. 5 billion each year just to pay the air conditioning bills for those wars.

Have you ever seen the skin on an 82-year-old man? Have you ever felt it?
-Yeah. Actually, I'm a certified massage therapist and a lot of my clients are elderly.
Then you should know. These sheets, it would be like wrapping a lizard in cashmere. Would you do that?
===
And that's what war is really about.
War is an economy.
Anybody who tells you otherwise
is either in on it or stupid.

Look at the bright side. For once, the American taxpayer is getting a good deal on a defense contract.

We were never best friends. You were just playing the part of my best friend.

There is no table of contents in the Book of Life. We don't know if we're at the beginning of a new chapter, or the end of a story. Which is why we must be grateful every time the page turns.

It's 100 million rounds of ammunition.
-Understood. But how many actual crates?
We have 68,520 crates.
===
We were trading heavy wooden crates for light cardboard boxes. Eight ounce tins for plastic bags. ... we would lighten our overall load by 180 tons.(This is the cleverest line in the entire movie!)
