This is a cute DK (Dorling Kindersley) book with crafts that are suitable for ages 8 and up. About a fourth of them require some experience knitting. Although there's a six page section on learning to knit, it isn't sufficient to learn without some help. About half of the projects are sewn with felt so they won't last long and they look kind of tacky but the good thing is they're easy to sew and inexpensive. You can buy huge pretty colored felt squares at Hobby Lobby for 50 cents each. My favorite projects are the cloth animals. The pony would've been cute but it has only two legs. The giraffe is adorable and so is the elephant. If you have never sewn a sock monkey there are instructions in here with plenty of photos. There's also a project making a stuffed animal from gloves which I thought was clever. There's a needlepoint section at the back that was way too short and too few templates. I took off a star for the poor knitting instruction and the lack of templates with too many felt projects. Overall, a cute book if you want to make some little critters.

i really want this book!!!!!
