It's been ten years since the events that changed Johnny Merrimon's life and rocked his hometown to the core. Since then, Johnny has fought to maintain his privacy, but books have been written of his exploits; he has fans, groupies. Living alone in the wilderness beyond town, Johnny's only connection to normal life is his old friend, Jack. They're not boys anymore, but the bonds remain. What they shared. What they lost.

No my favorite John Hart book - but I am not a fan of the supernatural and occult. Also was a little longer than it could have been to tell the story. However as the story was ending it did keep you attention as you were waiting to find out everything that was happening in the Hush and why.

I probably should have reread The Last Child before reading The Hush. What I remembered most and liked best was the sense of friendship between Johnny and Jack, but I really didn't remember any of the details of the book. I surely don't remember it having the black magic theme of the Hush. John Hart is one of my favorite authors and I love his writing but I was a little disappointed with this one. I was so excited and looking forward to this sequel and catching up with Johnny and Jack. I wasn't expecting all the Hoo Doo supernatural stuff, and I was disappointed in what a distant and crummy friend Johnny had become to Jack. I think I probably would have liked it better if it had been a stand alone story and not a sequel.
