Terrible movie with unnecessary carnage to get a message across.

Not scary when the clown appears 30 times. Horror needs to build up slowly with some subtly, then the clown appears. Not over and over again. I suppose it the movie had to follow the novel. Pretty good acting from the young cast. Sophia Lillis will become a successful actress in the mould of Molly Ringwald... there is even a reference in the movie dialogue. For those of us old enough to remember her movies.

If you liked Stranger Things, this is pretty similar. It has some good lines and several creepy scenes (the woman from the painting is way worse than Pennywise). I'm not a fan of horror films and, for reasons beyond my control unfortunately, I ended up watching this twice in the theatre within a couple of days ... so I noticed it makes effective use of trypophobia, for example.

In my opinion, the movie, "It" is a three star movie. Even though it was one of the most anticipated movies of 2017, maybe even this decade, it is not as good as the original 1990 version. I find many aspects of this movie to be random and nonsensical. I feel like this movie had a bit too much CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) at times. However, the screenplay, direction, and great performances from the kids, particularly Finn Wolfhard and the phenomenal acting by the clown, Bill Skarsgård, helped this movie float. Horror films need to be more than jump scares to be good, and this one is accompanied by a good moral of growth and facing your fears. 3.5 out of 5.

Another Stephen King movie that does not live up to its billing. How can a so called horror/thriller be so lame?. Well, make it like "Stand by me" and add a clown phobia to the mix. Less than exciting,scary,thrilling...as they say "Ok time waster".

One of my favorite movies of the year, definitely better than the original. A good mixture of comedy and horror. The best Stephen King adaption i have see so far. Cast is great, i really like the way Bill Skarsgård portrayed penny wise different than Tim Curry and I am very much looking forward to the sequel. (For a whole lineup of my favorite movies based on books visit my list).

Coarse Language: One character is called trashmouth due to the dirty jokes he makes continuously. Also a lot of cursing.
