"Subhuman" is the first book that I have ever read by Michael McBride. In fact, I had never heard of this author until this book popped up under the new items in our catalog. As a fan of monster stories and some science fiction, the premise pulled me in. The writing was at times confusing, and the characters were rather shallow, but none of this kept "Subhuman" from being a quick, entertaining read.
