I really liked this book. The main character is someone I would like to be friends with. She is so nice and helps people in trouble. Her family and friends are great. She used to be a teacher. After her husband dies she opens a mystery bookstore like they always dreamed of doing. She is also secretly writing her own mystery about 1938 England. Her two darling poodles are brave and smart and try to keep her safe.

This book is exactly what it says on the tin: a cheerful, cozy mystery. The supporting characters are quirky and funny, and the main character is an aspiring writer whose novel-in-progress delivers two mysteries for the price of one. This book isn't groundbreaking, but it is pretty fun.

Delightful first book in a new "cozy" mystery series. Wonderful characters. Nice pacing. The plot within a plot is handled well and adds to the book -- not at all confusing, which that technique sometimes is. I highly recommend this book. And I'm looking forward to book two, out in April 2018, and all future additions to this series.

Not my cup of tea, don't care for a mystery within a mystery.
